May 22, 2017 | by iaur | posted as M365 Migration, Stage (EXO)

Supported On-prem: Microsoft Exchange Server 2003 or Microsoft Exchange Server 2007.

You can’t use a staged migration to migrate Exchange 2013 or Exchange 2010 mailboxes to Office 365. Consider using a cutover migration or a hybrid email migration instead.

Stage 1

Verify you own the Domain

Configure DirSync in your AD

Configure Outlook Anywhere on your on-premises Exchange Server

Set mailbox permission EXON server, Unhide hidden user from GAL and Disable UM

Stage 2

Create a List of mailbox to migrate

Use Directory Synchronization to create users in O365

Connect Office 365 to your email system(migration endpoint)

Assign license to users

Stage 3

Migrate Your Mailbox

Stage 4

Convert on-premises mailbox to mail-enabled users so that migrated users can get to their email

Create a new password for the mail enabled user

Rebuild a new Outlook profile

Stage 5

Route your email directly to office 365

Assign license to users

Stage 6

Delete the staged migration batch

Complete post migration tasks

Decommission on-premises Exchange servers
