  • Assign License to the impacted user and wait for it to say under Admin Center> Active user> Mail

Once it is on synced status(incremental sync) in the UI that means the mailbox is now on the virtual cloud mailbox and can be completed(will stop incremental sync) anytime

Make sure that the license is assign to the cloud user so that you can access the office 365 OWA

  • Perform a test email from an External sender to your migrated cloud user and get the message trace to make sure that the mail flow would be:

External SMTP server forwarded to On- prem Exchange Server  forwarded to EOP Office 365 forwarded to Office 365 Exchange server

  • Delete the batch after everything is all set.

After your mailbox moves have completed, we recommend removing the completed migration batches or to delete any move request to minimize the likelihood of errors if the same users are moved again.
